Discord?

Post by |ONE|Methman » Fri Jun 23, 2017 8:32 pm

It seems as though most people and servers are using Discord. I don't see that as a purchase option. Do I need to get it through a company or is it free for me to set up for the server?

Thanks!

Discord is 100% free. Get the program and go. However, the codex is weaker than Teamspeak I've found.

Thank you Bill! Makes sense why it isn't for rent here! I rent a TS server here too, but everyone on the server wants Discord. I appreciate your help.

Hello,
One question about Discord. I will launch a discord, but some people said me it is important to buy the "discord nitro" upgrade. But you are saying it is 100% free. :)

So, is the freemium version ok, or is nitro a necessity ?

Thank you and sorry for my english

I've not heard of any kind of update. Mind you, I refuse to use Discord due to their mishandling of bandwidth.
I find that I have to really jack up the quality settings in discord to make it sound as good as Teamspeak. But by jacking up the quality settings it uses more bandwidth. In my testing, I've used 4 times the system resources to get the same sound quality from Discord that I get from Teamspeak.

There's something to be said for a tried and true paid service.
