Re: Guidance with Rust server size

If you're modding it, and you want it to handle 100 stable players with Oxide mod, to be honest, go for the 200 slot size. The player slots you see listed are based on vanilla rates. So, if you are running a 100 slot server with lets say a 2x gather rate, imagine what 200 vanilla players would be ab...

Lol, I noticed that today as well. To be honest, it didn't bug me so much since I was actually able to get home from work before updating!

Re: My new server has the same IP as an existing one, can't connect!

To be perfectly honest, any response from Gameservers staff here will simply say "Sorry to hear about your difficulty. Please submit a support ticket from your Gameservers control panel and we will look into this for you as soon as we can." As for the response times... It varies. Some days we get re...

Re: +server.description Unicode help

Your best bet here is to submit a support ticket through your control panel. I am unsure if Gameservers panel even offers support for the unicode letters.

Re: How to update server to new build?

You have to monitor the descriptions in the updates section. If you try and rush it, the auto update script hasn't had a chance to run and find the most up to date thing. My advice, be patient and don't update as soon as you see one of those three steps updated. Wait until you find all of them.

Re: Looking at buying a server

Gameservers doesn't provide videos. There are FAQs about it. I myself have posted several informative pieces and whatnot throughout the Rust forums. Best bet is to use Google or just read through a bunch of posts on the forums.

Re: How to update server to new build?

If you are doing a modded server, there is a specific process. First of all, in your gameservers control panel, go to mods like Neogen said, then do the following in order: 1) Server update (MAKE SURE IT'S THE LATEST VERSION / DATE STAMP) 2) Oxide update (AGAIN, MAKE SURE IT HAS THE LATEST DATE STAM...

Re: Gather Manager help

You are editing the actual plugin file, the CS file. Don't do that. Delete that file, reupload the original and only tweak the JSON file.

Re: Server is down, ticket 6 1/2 hours ago, no response

Smokingto, are you running a ton of mods? Or do you never wipe your map? What's your entity count? I've been running servers for ages, and I've very rarely seen 5.5gb of ram get used to cause the forced restart like that. I'd check your mods/entity count to see what the problem is. OR, look at using...

Re: Their protocol is 2037 not 2036

As I said earlier... HERE HERE! Ya know what, if we screw up our own server because we don't update a file properly, SO BE IT. LET US MAKE THAT MISTAKE. Guaranteed we won't make it a second time. If something happens, and we need to reinstall our server as a result, big friggin deal. Let us do that....

Oxide version not up to date yet again.

Two hours after the update, the oxide version is still the wrong one. Way to go with your 24/7 support Gameservers. You really instill a lot of faith and confidence into your clients. I've been with you over two years and this is the WORST your support has ever been. I can honestly say I am no longe...

Re: Discord?

I've not heard of any kind of update. Mind you, I refuse to use Discord due to their mishandling of bandwidth. I find that I have to really jack up the quality settings in discord to make it sound as good as Teamspeak. But by jacking up the quality settings it uses more bandwidth. In my testing, I'v...

Re: How long to expect help from support? Our server has been down for a few hours...

Response times lately have actually been pretty slow. I have seen them reply pretty quick to some issues, but more often than not I've had about 8-10 hour ticket times, with some stretching well over 24 hours. This has been a very well documented case on the forums, and is the reason I took my ARK h...

Re: Update is out, how long till gameservers update ?

Usually Gameservers has an auto update script that searches the main Rust depository for updates. That being said, it is set to run every x amount of minutes (let's imagine 30 minutes). So if the update rolled out 1 minute after the update was published, we could be waiting upwards of almost half an...
