Neo722712 wrote: Any word on a client for the BFBC2 Servers on your end ? I've been on the Combat Testing forums asking about the admin program they are developing and what I found out is that BC2 will have a sort of "daemon" installed with the server. Third parties will be able to develop admin clients that connect to that daemon to control the server. This is similar to BF2/2142CC, but we'll be able to use any program developed by third parties, and unlike the third party admin programs for games like COD 4/COD 5, we won't have the need for someone to keep a copy of the program running on a home computer. The ban list, reserved slots, server messages, etc will all be kept on the server just like with BF2/2142CC. Unfortunately, Combat Studio's website is overly complicated, requiring a login to the homepage, and then another login to the forums, and I can't seem to get logged into their homepage so I can get to the forums, so I can't provide you with a link at this time.

It was my understanding that there was an official admin program, it was just very basic. Is this not the case? The bfbc2admin is the only one I know of an have been following. Do you know of any others?

http://bfbc2admin.com/ is currently the most popular but there are other projects that are either starting up or near completion. I believe there is also a BFBC2CC coming out as well. It has very difficult for the 3rd party admin apps to write their apps against the correct protocols as things are constantly in flux. I would expect a clear winner as far as a remote admin client is concerned in about a week's time.

The bfbc2admin is the only one I know of an have been following. Do you know of any others? See my reply a few above this one. BC2 comes with an admin interface that runs on the server. It's up to third party developers to create programs to connect to that interface. Sort of like a combination of BF2/2142CC and the programs that were made for COD 4/5. This is a great thing, as it not only lets third party developers make programs, but clans with members that have programing experience can design their own control programs.

Players won't even have the game until 1pm eastern US time for digital downloads (and maybe connections to the master server won't work until then?). I wouldn't expect the servers to be online until closer to the release time. Would be nice if we had a little time to get things set up.
