After I had this mod installed on my RoK server I noticed it came with annoying auto messages such as "bring your friends!"

Can someone help me by telling me how to access the plug in and then how to remove the messages?

It would be much appreciated :D

Hi,

Can you try editing these lines in the mods config:

"Messages": [
"You can visit our forums at www.oxidemod.org!
"Don't forget to bring your friends!",
"Type /rules to see our server's rules!"

This should change the message.

If you locate the Announcer.cs file on your server FTP you can open and edit it with Notepad or Notepad++ (recommended). It will have these changeable lines in it.

The Announcer plugin uses a config file which will be called Announcer.json and is normally located in the Oxide\config directory. Don't edit the Announcer.cs, because it defaults to the settings in Announcer.cs if you type something wrong in Announcer.json.

Note: Announcer.json is created the first time the plugin is loaded.

Your host should provide you with ftp access to get access to the file. Do the following for updating it.

1) Copy the file local edit it and find the lines you want to change. The default lines for announcing look like the following in Announcer.json
{
"BroadcasterSettings": {
"Enabled": true,
"Interval": 120,
"Messages": [
"You can visit our forums at <removed oxide link>",
"Don't forget to bring your friends!",
"Type /rules to see our server's rules!", ##<---- Added a comma here to be able to add the next message
"Added this one to show the comma needed"
],
"ShowChatPrefix": true,
"ShowInRandomOrder": false
},

2) on the server run the following command as an admin. /oxide.unload Announcer
3) Copy the Announcer.json file you edited back to the Oxide\config directory.
4) Then issue /oxide.load Announcer on your server and it should start using the new settings.

NOTE: It will load the default messages from Announcer.cs. if you forget the comma on one of the message lines.
