Which plugins are you running?

What ever plugin you're using, check the permission nodes they provide, maybe there is a specific node you need to add to your default group.

It depends on the plugin you're running. Different plugins have different permissions.
@Cartnj, you're probably using a Chat Plugin which prevents players from talking. You'll either have to look at the mob's permissions and add those permissions to your Default group or just remove the plugin.

There are several plugin options, but more then likely you have:

• HeroChat {requires Vault}
• EssentialsChat {No permissions required}

To get a list of Plugins on your server, say '/plugins' if you see any of these up top you need a Permissions Plugin to get it to work right, if you need the permissions for Herochat click on the above link, if you need help with permissions explained click on Permissions Help
