I saw a server that needed 2000 points for a victory condition, and I thought that was really cool!

I'd like to set min up like that as well. Can some one help me with this? I imagine it's a simple switch in the Config.ini file... maybe changing the difficulty number? I saw a suggestion for a FAQ with information like this in it, and I think that would be really helpful!

Time Gate doesn't seem to have anything handy either... sigh.

thanks so far, I'm pretty happy with being able to play on the servers, once they are up, they seem to work pretty good, as long as you don't tweak around in them hehe.

we might not be able to change that in a ranked match, since I saw that option when I reinstalled my server and it was unranked

Hmm, it's set to 2000 points on the AOD server, Shaggy mentioned that you have to change the .txt file to read:

admin scorelimit 2000

his server still came up on the search for 'Ranked' servers... and I'm thinking that my points were registered... so, maybe you have to edit the file as unranked... (to get the option,) and then start it back up as ranked?

the mystery offers a thread..... I wish this were in a FAQ.

!!! THIS NO LONGER WORKS !!!
Follow the Discussion in the FAQ thread.

Woo hoo!

That's it, between Teeth, and Shaggy, I think I have this thing figured out!

Basically there are options in the 'non ladder' / ' not ranked' config files that are not there on the Ranked ones.

BUT - if you switch your server, to non ranked, edit the options there, (including friendly fire options, and the Victory condition score,) save it, then go in, and change it back to a Ranked / Ladder server, the changes that you made will stay with it... I assume that they have to fit within the parameters of a ranked server. (I think I read somewhere once that was at least a 500 points to victory... and I'm not sure about Friendly Fire (which is listed as FF on the config page.)

ok, my work here is done. :-P now this most likely ought to be edited into something that sounds 'professional' and put in the FAQ.

Or.... just add those options to the dedicated server page... which seems like the better way.

Here is the way that works now, you'll have to do this every time your server is re-started: (Taken from the REadme - and originally posted by ShaggyTDawg (I think.)

---

Once your dedicated server has an admin password, you can login as the
administrator while connected to it from another client.

To login as the administrator:

1. Join a game on your dedicated server.
2. Press the tilde key (~) or the equal sign key (=) to bring up a
console window.
3. Type “AdminLogin <AdminPassword>” into the console window and
press enter where “<AdminPassword>” is the password you entered into
UserGame.ini.

Once you’re finished updating the server, to log out as the administrator,
type "AdminLogout" into the console window.

8.3 EXECUTING ADMIN COMMANDS:
---------------------------------------

After you have logged in as the administrator, admin commands can be
issued using the console window. Note that the use of many of these
commands may result in the server losing ranked status.

To issue an admin console command:

1. Open the console window using tilde (~) or equals (=)
2. Type “Admin <AdminCommand>” in the console window where
”<AdminCommand>” is the command you wish to execute.

Use this Command to change the Victory Point Condition:

* ScoreLimit <Points> Sets the game’s score limit to <Points>
Ex: ScoreLimit 1000

Keep in mind that it has to be at least a 750 point server to stay 'Ranked'.

the command would look like:

Admin ScoreLimit 750

-- hope this helps --
