For the life of me i can't figure of how (or IF) there is a way to ask for a password before connecting to the server.

As in:
- user puts in server ip/port and username
- user presses connect
- user is prompted to enter a password in order to connect

I have for the time being, put up ACL access lists for the channels, and can control the /channel/ access and privileges with access tokens. But that doesn't prevent people from connecting and bunching up in the root channel (granted, they're muted/suppressed by the ACL if they lack the access token, but they are still connected)

Anyone got any insight into this?

Wee update, seems there is a setting in the server configuration that controls this.
If that is the case, it is something that can only GS staff can have access to (thus, needs a ticket). This apparently will disable or invalidate some other features, like controlling users by registering them.

It would be nice to have this setting in the web admin interface to be changed at will without a ticket

Code:
# Specific IP or hostname to bind to.
# If this is left blank (default), murmur will bind to all available addresses.
host=

# Password to join server
serverpassword=

Code:
# To enable public server registration, the serverpassword must be blank, and
# this must all be filled out.
# The password here is used to create a registry for the server name; subsequent
# updates will need the same password. Don't lose your password.
# The URL is your own website, and only set the registerHostname for static IP
# addresses.
#
#registerName=
#registerPassword=secret

Just another update here. As of today server join password still needs to be set by GS staff.

Greetings,

If you've got a ticket entered, what is the ticket number?

Was this ever solved? I would also like to put a join password on my mumble server. Do I need to contact a tech to do it?

Yes, it takes only a matter of minutes once the ticket is submitted.

Why can we not have access to the control panel? The official Mumble website allows us (or did when I tried the free trial). Now I started a mumble server with you guys, and my hands are cuffed. If this is going to be an issue, I'd like to get a refund for the server.
