Hey gents. so I recently purchased a private server for me and some friends.
For some reason when I try to join, it keeps trying to download a stock map or a map I already have. I wouldn't mind much, but it seems to take forever for it to download.

I tried updating Steam through the mods tab but that didn't help.

If you are being forced to download Stock Maps, try running the Steam Mod once, and wait for the server to come back online via the Web Admin.

If it successfully updated, then the version of it should appear next to it in the Server Browser. The latest is...1032, it can be found in the bottom right corner when clicking once to highlight the server, then going down to Server Version.

If its not updating successfully, or it DOES state 1032, try opening up a support ticket with GS, the update may not have been patched correctly.

Of course, could it be your KF's out of date? XD

Alright, so I checked my Sever date and now it's 1016, yet I believe last night (or this morning since it was around 5 AM for me when I tested out the server), it was on 1032.

Also, this might sound dumb but where in the control panel can you run the mod?
I've checked the mod tabs but all I see is the option to install the mod.

You click Install, and wait a while, the update may take a few minutes. Try not pressing it again until you are certain that it did attempt an update, pressing more than once in a short period of time makes the load time longer.

Reinstalling will take it back to 101X, so try not to do that and let the server come back online on its own, shouldn't take longer than five minutes.

I had to download the stock maps after I purchased my server and I read somewhere that it has to download the files for that server the first time you log onto it. Mine ran slow as well but then I purchased a redirect server and the download time increased by literally 500%

I have the same problem as the OP. Tried the server update button and have opened a support ticket UDR-564ZA

hope it can be fixed as it is reallly annoying, have even tried to use a redirect to see if it speeds up the downloads but to no avail.

Hello.

Have you tried to recently update the server? If not, please try to as the SteamCMD update method was fixed sometime after the update went live, it was a last minute change by Steam.

If this doesn't work, the only way it can be fixed is by doing a Re-installation of your server with the Full Wipe checked next to it. The update is currently in an Event period so custom content will be broken if it uses custom Z.E.D.s or other specimens/entities that are not optimized to work with event Z.E.D.s.

Furthermore, if you're running any Muts, ensure that you have the latest version installed, the IJC Weapon Mut should be removed as it was made official and has been put into the official TWI game files.

Unless GS has another solution, this is the only way I could get my servers working, as the system files have changed. Ensure you backup your content before you attempt to do this. Once the server has been re-installed, then update Steam before attempting to utilize it. It will take longer than it used to do as the method that SteamCMD uses is quite different than HLDS for Killing Floor.

If you're having issues with your re-direct, check the [IpDrv.HTTPDownload] section and ensure it's placed properly, however, the redirect should have nothing to do with the Steam Update. o_O
